About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Correctional Officer to join our team at the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining the safety and security of our facilities and ensuring the well-being of inmates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process incoming inmates and assist with releasing from custody
  • Maintain safety and security while ensuring facility remains in compliance with daily Title 15 mandates
  • Respond to emergency situations within the facility, including medical responses
  • Monitor inmate daily activity, document incidents, and search for contraband and weapons
  • Handcuff, subdue, and restrain persons who pose a danger to themselves or others
Requirements
  • Valid driver's license
  • At least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certificate of completion of the BSCC Jail Operations Training Academy
  • Certificate of completion of the PC 832 Arrest training
  • One year of experience equivalent to the County's class of Sheriff's Correctional Officer I
