Job Title: Sales Engineer - Optical Solutions

Corning Incorporated is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Engineer to join our team in the Georgia and Alabama market. As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for selling Corning's end-to-end Optical solutions to Enterprise customers, building and executing a territory sales plan, and delivering on strategic company priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet or exceed sales budgets for all telecommunications products assigned.
  • Generate preference for Corning's products over competitors through regular sales calls and effective communication.
  • Manage the buying process at each strategic account to create a preference for Corning's products.
  • Provide timely call report summaries for all face-to-face meetings and meaningful phone conversations.
Requirements:
  • B.S. or B.A. degree.
  • Sales and/or Marketing experience preferred in the current market, with a focus on telecommunication fiber-optic products to Enterprise customers.
  • Internally motivated and results-oriented, with a strong work ethic.
  • Self-starter with strong Solution Selling Capabilities.
  • Business Intellect: Understands customer challenges and the overall P&L Statement.
  • Mental Agility: Quickly adapts and can think and react on his/her feet.
  • Organizational Agility: Builds relationships and works effectively within an organization.
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with telecommunications, fiber-optics, and selling through distribution in the current market.
  • Understands how Corning's solutions help solve customer needs.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Highly competitive with the ability to share success with team members and Regional Manager.
  • Exceptional teaching, training, and motivational skills with a proven track record.
Other Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Travel required 75%.
  • Work effectively in a team environment with minimum supervision from a home-based office.

The range for this position is $71,543.00 to $98,543.00, assuming full-time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and P&L Statement.
