POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Staff Pharmacist is responsible for delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients and collaborating with healthcare professionals through integrated medication distribution and clinical services.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:


A Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution is required, along with current state licensure or eligibility for licensure to practice pharmacy in Texas.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This role is part-time, offering up to 19.99 hours per week, and is not eligible for benefits.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Analyze physician's medication orders to ensure that therapy aligns with the patient's diagnosis, weight, and age (including pediatric, neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric considerations) as detailed in the accompanying documentation.

2. Prepare and dispense medications as prescribed by physicians across all patient care settings, adhering to departmental protocols and relevant regulations.

3. Process ambulatory prescriptions with direct patient engagement, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.

4. Identify, prevent, assess, and report Adverse Drug Events when necessary.

5. Maintain comprehensive patient medication records and formulate individualized patient care plans.

6. Provide counseling to patients regarding their medications and supply drug information to healthcare team members.

7. Oversee the work of support staff and contribute to the training and development of newly hired departmental personnel.

8. Act as a mentor to pharmacy technicians, students, residents, and interns.

9. Engage in ongoing pharmaceutical education in line with departmental performance expectations.

10. Follow established internal controls for the department.
