Position Overview

The Foster Care Program Coordinator will oversee and manage a range of Foster Care initiatives, ensuring that comprehensive and culturally sensitive services are provided to unaccompanied refugee and migrant children and their families. This role serves as a key connection between partner organizations, stakeholders, and the broader foster care community.

This position offers flexibility with remote work options and occasional travel as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the administration of Foster Care grants to partner agencies, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Facilitate collaboration among Foster Care partners providing services to unaccompanied children, fostering communication and shared learning.
  • Offer technical assistance to partners regarding service delivery, documentation, and compliance with child welfare standards.
  • Conduct ongoing monitoring of Foster Care partners to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Assess training needs and develop resources to enhance service delivery in line with recognized standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of various governmental reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Collaborate with leadership to manage network capacity, including partner recruitment and retention.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to coordinate services and share information effectively.
  • Represent Global Refuge at external meetings and trainings, promoting our mission and initiatives.
  • Participate in agency-wide activities and contribute to strategic initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in child welfare systems and practices.
  • Demonstrated managerial experience with a focus on program management and evaluation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently, prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Experience in developing partnerships across diverse systems.
  • Proven track record in providing training and support to staff and partners.
  • Knowledge of immigration and child welfare legal issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Commitment to diversity and experience in cross-cultural environments.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
