Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Special Education Teacher to join our educational team. This role is essential in providing tailored support to students with emotional and behavioral challenges.

Caseload:

  • High School
  • 12 Students (Emotional Support)
  • Focus on teaching social skills and providing in-class support for students with special needs

Compensation: $34 - $38/hr based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
  • Creating an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere that fosters student engagement and development.
  • Delivering differentiated instruction and modifying teaching methods to accommodate the diverse needs of each student.
  • Evaluating and tracking student progress, documenting successes, and pinpointing areas for growth.
  • Collaborating with fellow educators, specialists, and families to ensure effective communication and service coordination.
  • Employing a variety of teaching techniques, materials, and resources to enhance learning and engagement.
  • Integrating assistive technology and adaptive tools as necessary to support student participation and independence.
  • Monitoring and addressing students' social-emotional growth, behavior management, and self-regulation skills.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Special Education is preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification or credential in Special Education.
  • Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the capability to develop and implement them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
