Position Overview:

Position Type: Full Time
Caseload:

  • High School Level
  • 12 Students (Emotional Support)
  • Focus on teaching social skills and providing in-class support for students on the caseload

Compensation: $34 - $38/hr based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students with special needs.
  • Fostering a nurturing and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and development.
  • Delivering differentiated instruction and modifying teaching methods to accommodate the diverse needs of each student.
  • Evaluating and tracking student progress, documenting successes, and pinpointing areas needing improvement.
  • Collaborating with fellow educators, specialists, and families to ensure effective communication and service coordination.
  • Employing a range of instructional strategies, materials, and resources to boost student learning and engagement.
  • Integrating assistive technology and adaptive tools as necessary to promote student involvement and independence.
  • Observing and addressing students' social-emotional growth, behavior management, and self-regulation abilities.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Special Education is preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification or credential in Special Education.
  • Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the capability to develop and implement them effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and support staff.
