Medical Office Coordinator

At Optum, we're dedicated to delivering care and improving health outcomes for millions of people worldwide. As a Medical Receptionist, you'll play a vital role in connecting patients with the care and resources they need to thrive.
This full-time position is part of our team at ProHealth Physicians, where you'll work Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 5pm. You may be asked to support local practices in the region for coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Schedule and prioritize appointment requests according to our Appointment and Scheduling Guidelines, consulting with medical assistants or licensed clinicians as needed
- Use our electronic health record system to take messages and communicate with clinicians
- Greet patients and facilitate the check-in process
- Monitor daily reminder call logs to reschedule appointments as necessary
- Scan and index documents into the EHR, ensuring that necessary documents and lab results are available before patient visits
- Close payment batches at the end of each shift, following ProHealth's cash control procedures
- Maintain knowledge of current OSHA and ProHealth policies
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a smooth office operation and exceptional patient service
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of receptionist experience
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting
- Experience working with Epic
As a Connecticut resident, the hourly range for this position is $16.00 to $28.27 per hour. Pay is based on factors such as local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, and more.
