Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Northwell Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical environment.
- Pass and count instruments, sponges, and other surgical materials to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.
- Assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning, draping, and preparing the operating room.
- Operate and maintain various surgical equipment, including lights, tables, and suction machines.
- Dispose of soiled linens, gloves, and debris, and sterilize instruments according to terminal technique.
- Perform a variety of related duties, including transporting patients, maintaining records, and assisting with routine operating room functions.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; AAS Degree in Operating Room Technology preferred.
- Certification by the Association of Operating Room Technicians required; must be obtained within one year of date of employment.
- Successful completion of a nationally accredited educational program for surgical technologists and holds a certified surgical technologist (CST) credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) required.
