Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Ahtna Construction & Primary Products Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting civil construction projects involving road/highway improvements and new construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support project managers in preparing scopes of work for subcontractor pricing and project schedules
  • Prepare project deliverables, including plan preparation and field staffing
  • Manage logistics of pre-construction submittals, client meetings, budgeting, invoicing, and reporting
  • Interpret field geotechnical data and review statements of work included in client request for proposal documents
  • Support multiple projects, including pre-construction tasks and field support for the Site Superintendent and Quality Control Manager
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
  • Experience working in the engineering construction industry, preferably on new construction and building improvements
  • Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with project scheduling software like MS Project and estimating software like MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in other software programs such as MS Project or Primavera 6 and MS Excel for estimating
  • OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training
  • Experience working on construction projects for the Alaska Department of Transportation, Municipality of Anchorage, Mat-Su Borough, etc.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent travel to project sites. The physical demands of the job include frequent lifting, sitting, standing, stooping, and reaching.
