Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at Northwell Health, you will play a critical role in performing ultrasound exams to aid in patient diagnosis. This position requires the application of non-ionizing, high frequency ultrasonic waves for diagnosis of disease, utilizing independent judgment in the application of these technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Prepares patients for ultrasound exams, positioning them on examination tables according to departmental standard operating procedures.
Explains procedures in layman's terms to relieve patient anxiety.
Obtains pertinent imaging and diagnostic reports required for correlation with ultrasound exams.
Collaborates with clinicians to ensure appropriateness of studies and performs related administrative tasks.

Requirements

Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
Current Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certification required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
1-3 years of technical experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $64.18/hour.
