Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT equipment to capture high-quality images of patients
  • Prepare patients for examination, including explaining procedures and setting up equipment
  • Ensure that proper information has been obtained for the physician to make a diagnosis
  • Maintain required documentation and ensure that consent forms are obtained for IV contrast materials
  • Perform CT procedures, including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, and other specialized procedures
  • Collaborate with Radiologists to extend parameters, if needed, within established imaging protocols
  • Utilize special devices to reduce exposure to ionizing radiation of radiosensitive areas
  • Administer intravenous (IV) and oral contrast agents as per Radiologist order and perform venipuncture of the appropriate gauge necessary for examination
Requirements
  • Vocational or Technical school Diploma required
  • Current License to practice as a Radiologist in New York State
  • Current ARRT Radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed
  • 1-3 years of technical experience required
