Job Summary

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist needed to operate MRI equipment and produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes. Collaborate with clinicians to ensure appropriateness of studies and maintain required documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.
  • Ensure no metal objects accompany patient into procedure room.
  • Prepare patient for exam by placing and positioning patient on exam table within the gantry.
  • Enter patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from a requisition completed by the Radiologist.
  • Perform MRI procedures, including abdominal, thoracic, neurological exams, extremities, sub-periosteal implant planning, radiation therapy treatment planning, biopsies, etc.
  • Recognize and promptly report patient's motor abnormalities, including fainting, discoloration, contrast reactions, etc., to the Radiologist.
  • Perform minor repairs and frequent calibration checks and adjusts equipment, when necessary.

Requirements

  • Vocational or Technical school Diploma required.
  • Current License to practice as a Radiologist in New York State required, and Current ARRT Radiology registration required, plus specialized certifications as needed: MRI and Cat Scan Certifications.
  • 1-3 years of technical experience, required.
  • Cat Scan technologists who can also cover general x-ray, preferred.
  • Individuals interested in cross training to MRI, preferred.

Work Schedule

Weekdays 10a-6p and every other weekend 8a-4pm.
