About Public Knowledge
Public Knowledge is a non-profit organization that works to shape policy on behalf of the public interest. We promote freedom of expression, an open internet, and access to affordable communications tools and creative works both in the U.S. and globally.
Our Fellowship Program
We have a robust fellowship program that hosts fellows from various institutions each year with a variety of sponsors. Our fellows work on diverse and substantive projects, including legal research and writing, advocating before policymakers, and mentoring.
Design-Your-Own Fellowship
We are excited to offer a Design-Your-Own fellowship opportunity with Equal Justice Works. This two-year fellowship will allow you to design a new project that focuses on advocacy on behalf of disenfranchised individuals, groups, or issues not adequately represented in our legal system.
Project Ideas
We encourage you to pitch a project related to Artificial Intelligence, Broadband Access, or another topic relevant to our work. Alternatively, you can demonstrate an interest in these topics and work with us to formulate a proposal.
What We Offer

How to Apply
If you are interested in applying for this fellowship, please submit your application by Friday, September 6. We will then work with you to develop your project into a joint proposal to be submitted to Equal Justice Works by Tuesday, September 17.
