Job Opportunity

Public Citizen is seeking a dedicated and resourceful advocate to join our Climate Program. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping federal and state policies to promote zero emission vehicles (ZEVs) and align with a 1.5°C pathway.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advocate before Congress and federal and state agencies to advance ZEV policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and execute advocacy campaigns, including drafting white papers, reports, and comments.
  • Represent Public Citizen in public forums and participate in coalitions to advance our mission.
  • Develop and maintain media relationships, respond to press inquiries, and create engaging content to raise awareness about ZEV policies.
  • Work with the team to identify and pursue opportunities to make a meaningful impact on ZEV policies.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with policies related to fuel economy, ZEVs, or adjacent areas is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong analytical thinking, judgment, and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a strong desire to make a difference.
  • Willingness to work long hours when necessary and adapt to changing priorities.
