Position Overview

MathWorks operates under a hybrid work structure, allowing employees to balance their time between the office and remote work. This model fosters both collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to optimize personal life.

The role of the MATLAB Student Engagement Representative entails a commitment of approximately 5 hours per week, focusing on the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute innovative strategies to enhance the visibility of the MathWorks brand and its offerings among the student community.
  • Connect with key student organizations in fields such as Engineering, Mathematics, Science, and Finance.
  • Coordinate and host events on campus to showcase the advanced capabilities of MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Utilize social media platforms and popular communication channels within the university to promote MathWorks Student Challenges and available resources for learning MATLAB and Simulink.
  • Enhance MathWorks' presence at university career fairs, informational sessions, and other recruitment-related events.

Key Responsibilities

The MATLAB Student Engagement Representative is expected to:

  • Organize engaging events on campus to demonstrate the functionalities of MATLAB and Simulink, with resources provided for effective outreach.
  • Leverage social media expertise to raise awareness of MathWorks products by sharing relevant content on platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in MATLAB; familiarity with Simulink is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and a keen interest in social media engagement (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, blogging, etc.).
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student maintaining good academic standing, with at least two semesters remaining in their degree program (preferably in Engineering).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills, capable of juggling multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in a technical field.
  • Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without restrictions.
  • This position does not offer visa sponsorship.
