The Clinical Systems Coordinator is a key member of the Trios Health team, responsible for the configuration, testing, and development of the Hospital Information Systems (HIS) clinical modules. This role requires strong collaboration with various hospital departments, including clinicians, medical staff, and education departments, to enhance clinical efficiency, patient care, and reporting through designated EMR programs.
Key Responsibilities- Configure, test, and analyze HIS clinical modules to provide ongoing software and end-user support.
- Gain comprehensive knowledge of HIS clinical system modules, identifying procedural issues versus system/application deficiencies.
- Track and document reported deficiencies or errors, coordinating corrective action with the affected software vendor.
- Communicate effectively with clinicians, medical staff, and department directors on problems or concerns with clinical systems.
- Work closely with other systems analysts to ensure optimal performance, testing new interfaces and system change requests.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of clinical systems policies and procedures, objectives, and safety standards.
- Provide front-line support during go-live of new clinical systems, super user assessment, and training.
- Promote awareness of data validity and security.
- Review vendor product released updates and upgrades.
- Perform system maintenance related to master files and clinical screen designs.
- Assess education needs of nursing staff related to clinical systems and charting standards.
- Develop and write clinical systems education plans, policies, and procedures, and manuals.
- Regularly visit and communicate with nursing units, documenting reported deficiencies and suggested changes.
- Participate in Quality Improvement and Nursing Leadership teams to facilitate clinical systems initiatives.
- Demonstrate support and adherence to the Mission and Values of Trios Health.
- Be knowledgeable and compliant with Hospital, Department, Fire/Safety/Disaster, Educational Requirements, and Personnel Policies.
- Adhere to the Corporate Compliance Program.
- Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all information received.
- Perform department-specific competencies satisfactorily.
- Other duties as assigned.
