Job Title: Patient Access Coordinator
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Coordinator to join our team at The University of Chicago Medicine. As a Patient Access Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients have a seamless and efficient experience when accessing our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient scheduling and appointments with multiple providers and departments.
- Anticipate and address patient questions and concerns in a proactive and compassionate manner.
- Obtain patient authorization for medical records and verify that all necessary documents have arrived.
- Collaborate with the pre-visit team to obtain prior insurance authorizations and communicate with patients as needed.
- Identify and address socioeconomic issues that may impact patient access to care.
- Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Provide information on clinical trials and disease diagnosis to patients.
- Maintain statistics and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a high-volume healthcare environment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
