Role Summary:
The Structured Finance team at MUFG is looking for a Lease Accountant to assist with the servicing of Originations. This role involves reviewing lease agreements, supporting ongoing transactions, and ensuring proper documentation for compliance and auditing purposes.
Your responsibilities will include processing accounting entries and generating reports for daily and monthly activities, as well as preparing analyses required for both internal and external financial reporting, managerial evaluations, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and maintain documentation for accounting entries related to both book and tax.
- Process and monitor transaction funding requirements and manage the collection of ongoing payments.
- Maintain and organize data for subsidiary ledgers associated with a portfolio of complex leases.
- Gather information to support managerial and regulatory reporting.
- Reconcile various balance sheet and income statement accounts, providing analytical insights into variations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration with a focus on accounting.
- A minimum of 1+ years of experience in accounting or as an Accountant, preferably within a financial services leasing environment.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Critical thinking and proactive problem-solving skills.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to support clients effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with accounting software (experience with Peoplesoft or Oracle is advantageous).
- Operational experience is beneficial, with leasing experience considered a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
The typical base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $95,000, depending on relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also qualify for discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
