Position Overview:

The Compliance Operations Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring adherence to economic sanctions regulations within the financial services sector. This position is integral to the Sanctions Screening Center of Excellence, which is dedicated to monitoring and managing compliance across various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily management of alerts, ensuring timely prioritization and thorough examination of client records for potential Economic Sanctions issues.
  • Provide strategic guidance on the design, development, and execution of complex operational products and services, utilizing sound judgment within established project management frameworks.
  • Lead initiatives and direct team activities related to special projects, ensuring alignment with compliance objectives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, offering insights into operational processes and their implications for other departments.
  • Consult on current operational states, propose alternative future strategies, and facilitate the implementation of effective programs and initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend roles and responsibilities for key projects, ensuring clarity and accountability.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in Operations or Compliance, with a strong preference for candidates with Sanctions experience.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, with a proactive approach to achieving sustainable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail, capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proficient in risk management practices and adaptable to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in PC applications and typing.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with OFAC regulations, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the Patriot Act.
  • Experience with economic sanctions program requirements and the handling of sanctions alerts.
  • Background in Global Banking & Markets processes.
  • Ability to navigate diverse perspectives to identify optimal solutions.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and a passion for driving organizational change.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a drive to innovate and enhance operational practices.
  • Experience in monitoring team performance and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ability to coordinate with various regions to achieve operational goals.

Minimum Education Requirement:

Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
