Position Summary:
This role demands a robust foundation in accounting and bookkeeping, complemented by proficient computer skills.

The GL Accountant is tasked with generating comprehensive monthly financial reports for a portfolio of 20 to 30 clients, contingent on the workload and financial intricacies involved.

This position operates in a highly dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate should exhibit meticulous attention to detail, thrive under pressure, adhere to strict deadlines, and possess exceptional communication and presentation abilities.


Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review financial statements for associations, including P&L variances and bank reconciliations.
- Address and resolve banking discrepancies.
- Monitor bank accounts to pinpoint surplus funds, optimizing investment income opportunities.
- Execute bank account transfers.
- Generate financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards for non-profit entities.
- Assist management in formulating annual operating budgets.
- Review expense coding and authorize invoices within the A/P (AVID) system.
- Support the examination of funding requests for associations, as necessary.
- Conduct investigations on outstanding or unclear items.

- Record and categorize income and expenses by accounting periods, adhering to established accounting schedules through timely preparation of accruals, prepaid schedules, or receivables schedules.

- Address accounting and financial inquiries by analyzing and interpreting data.
- Liaise with management, board members, developers, and banking representatives as required.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance accuracy and timeliness, providing recommendations to the Director.
- Prepare monthly cash flow projections.
- Assist with special projects and requests as needed.
- Uphold rigorous documentation standards and audit trails for all transactions.
- Analyze and post year-end audit entries.
- Safeguard the organization's integrity by maintaining confidentiality and adhering to the Code of Ethics Policy.
- Perform additional duties or projects as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:
- Education: A Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting from an accredited institution is mandatory. A minimum of two years of relevant experience is required. Experience in the Property Management sector is advantageous but not essential.

Skills and Competencies:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong understanding of customer service principles and practices, with the ability to operate independently and make informed decisions. Capable of managing multiple tasks, prioritizing effectively, and meeting stringent deadlines. A collaborative team player with strong analytical capabilities. Detail-oriented with a knack for organizing information across various tasks.

Physical Demands:
- The role necessitates the ability to lift up to 10 lbs. Involves standing, sitting, and walking. Extended periods of work at a personal computer are required.

Frequent physical activities include:

- Writing/typing for corporate communications and resident interactions.
- Grasping/turning for telephone and doorknob use.
- Finger dexterity for operating office equipment.
- Lifting/carrying paperwork, deliveries, books, and files.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential.

Lifting Requirements:
- Rare need (less than 1% of time) for lifting over 25 lbs.
- Occasional need (1% to 33% of time) for lifting between 10-25 lbs.
- Frequent need (33% to 66% of time) for lifting less than 10 lbs.

Vision Requirements:


- Frequent need (66% to 100% of time) to complete forms, review reports, and view various correspondence, including computer screens.

- Regular need to observe small details.
- Frequent need (33% to 66% of time) to see clearly beyond arm's reach for property inspections and neighborhood surveys.

Hearing Requirements:


- Frequent need (66% to 100% of time) to communicate via telephone and in person with vendors, corporate staff, residents, and prospects.


Speaking Requirements:
- Constant need (66% to 100% of time) to verbally engage with homeowners, vendors, and staff.
