Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Thomas Edwards Group Inc. as a key member of our financial operations department.

Responsibilities
  • Accounts Payable:
    • Assist in developing and implementing company-wide policies and procedures for AP processing and employee expense reimbursements.
    • Review and reconcile a high volume of invoices through an automated system.
    • Process manual invoices and checks on an as-needed basis.
  • Weekly AP Cycle:
    • Enter invoices, AP aging review, and payment runs.
    • Reconcile vendor accounts.
    • Research and troubleshoot discrepancies with vendor invoices/payments.
    • Set up new vendors per company policy, including tracking all vendor W-9s.
    • Process distribution payments to investors.
    • Monitor cash balances and record adjustments to daily cash registers and upload checks.
    • Assist in 1099 review.
    • Reconcile monthly credit card statements.
  • Bookkeeping:
    • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in a timely basis.
    • Accurately record transactions and journal adjustments to close the GL to ensure the timely preparation of financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
    • Review and analyze general ledger account balances and prepare related account reconciliations.
    • Assist in the preparation of the balance sheet, profit and loss statements, Cash Flow, and other financial reports.
    • Review with the Controller and record any necessary adjustments for final reports.
    • Distribute financials and departmental reports to the relevant parties.
    • Assist in answering questions of outside bookkeeping firm.
    • Prepare and review monthly and quarterly distribution files for Controller.
    • Ad hoc projects as assigned by Principals, Sr Controller & Controller.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's or Associate degree a plus.
    • QuickBooks Online a plus, basic Excel skills required, intermediate a plus.
    • Full-cycle AP experience.
    • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate both internally and externally.
    • Able to process a high number of invoices and transactions in a reasonably fast-paced environment.
    • Willing to pitch in for the betterment of team, even when outside of normal job description.
