Key Responsibilities of a Powertrain Systems Engineer

  • Define engine specifications concerning performance and durability while guiding the technical direction of program development.
  • Lead the design and development of core engine and system components, including cylinder blocks, valvetrains, cranktrains, cooling systems, lubrication, fuel systems, exhaust systems, and induction systems.
  • Coordinate project tasks with design, testing, and simulation teams.
  • Collaborate with automotive partners to design and refine specified powertrain systems.
  • Engage with both internal and external suppliers to foster technical partnerships for component development.
  • Maintain comprehensive program documentation, including:
  • Analysis and reduction of engine and vehicle data.
  • Authoring and approving technical reports.
  • Preparing and presenting technical summaries to leadership regarding program milestones.

Are You the Right Fit?

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A decade of experience in engine research, design, and development, or related product development fields.
  • Proven experience in managing high-performance engine design and development initiatives.
  • Technical project management experience in setting program objectives, budgets, timelines, testing, and implementing high-performance racing products.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, along with the capability to learn and utilize internal software tools.
  • Due to ITAR regulations, all personnel at this location must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
