GNC Systems Engineer Intern

Responsibilities- Develop and implement autopilot logic for trajectory and performance optimization
- Design, test, and maintain high-fidelity physics-based simulation models in MATLAB/Simulink
- Develop and execute CFD solutions and apply the results to systems of interest
- Generate reports and provide informal and formal updates on a daily basis
- Support proposal development as needed
- Demonstrate a strong background in guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) and familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Master's degree preferred)
- Previous internship or co-op experience, leadership and teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Experience with autopilot design and tuning
- Familiarity with aircraft and missile guidance algorithms
- Knowledge of static and dynamic stability and flight dynamics modeling
- Strong background in fluid dynamics with experience in all Mach regimes (low-subsonic to hypersonic)
- Understanding of Linux-based operating systems
- Familiarity with high-performance computing environments
- Familiarity with Fortran and/or C/C++
- Familiarity with scripting languages (bash, Python)
- Knowledge of CAD modeling, grid generation (e.g., Pointwise), and applied CFD methods are considered a plus
Corvid Technologies LLC is a group of over 300 engineers and scientists, about 3/4 with master's degrees or Ph.D.'s, that provide end-to-end solutions including concept development, design and optimization, prototype build, test and manufacture.
