Role Summary

The Market Intelligence Specialist will collaborate with the Research & Intelligence team to enhance the firm's strategic initiatives, business development efforts, and client relationship management. This position requires a cooperative approach, working closely with both the Research & Intelligence team and the Marketing and Innovation departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough research and generate comprehensive analytical reports on the legal requirements of potential and existing clients, specific industries, or geographical markets.
  • Evaluate trends within the legal sector, focusing on growth metrics, profitability indicators, business development success, and return on investment.
  • Perform searches related to judicial analytics, litigation case studies, and intellectual property inquiries.
  • Assist in establishing docket tracking alerts, company notifications, or news updates to support ongoing business development activities.
  • Identify external resources to gain insights into the competitive landscape.
  • Compile industry and company target lists, reports, and profiles, integrating background information, advisory connections, and market intelligence from both internal and external sources.
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize the use of internal and third-party technologies and resources for effective marketing intelligence functions.
  • Manage a variety of short-term and long-term projects, along with daily requests.
  • Engage with marketing and other business professionals throughout the organization, fostering cross-functional collaboration.

Educational Background and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree in library or information science, with a focus on legal and business research, is preferred. Other advanced degrees with substantial legal research experience will also be considered.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a marketing intelligence, competitive intelligence, or corporate research role is essential.
  • Proficiency in utilizing research tools such as Capital IQ, Intelligize, Lexis, Westlaw, Bloomberg Law, Docket Navigator, Lex Machina, and Pitchbook, along with strong internet research skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
