About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Coordinator for Student Organizations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team in the Commonwealth of Virginia, dedicated to fostering a community where each student creates a customized experience to meet their goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purposeful and learning-centered programs and services that guide the various types of student organizations at Virginia Tech.
  • Manage and oversee the student organization resource center, The Source, and student Engagement Ambassadors.
  • Supervise the Graduate Assistant for Student Organizations and the Engagement Ambassadors, focusing on developing personal and organizational skills for peer-to-peer education and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement projects, presentations, and engagement opportunities that promote student success and well-being.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience advising student organizations, creating programs, and working with university policy and/or leadership development programs.
  • Experience in student affairs or higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Above-average communications skills and a desire to work in a teamwork-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with student organizations and/or leadership development.
  • Proficiency with computer programs, including involvement platforms, specifically, the Campus Labs platforms.
  • Experience within and/or leading a student organization, or similar type of group.
