About the Role

Banner Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer to join our multidisciplinary team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, improving, and designing product fixtures and tools within your discipline.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design fixtures and test equipment to match line specifications as established by the project team and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to identify fixture design requirements.
  • Innovation: Design innovative, cost-effective assembly fixtures with ergonomic efficient design.
  • Error-Proofing: Integrate error-proofing techniques into assembly fixture designs.
  • Documentation: Create piece part drawings and complete activities required for document release, revision control, and fixture serviceability.
  • Research and Sourcing: Research, specify, and source fixture components and assemblies.
  • Implementation: Assemble fixtures, complete performance verification, and fully implement them into production for long-term use in our plants.
  • Documentation and Training: Produce documentation that meet our accepted standards and install systems on-site as needed, and provide training to the manufacturing personnel.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate's degree in Mechanical Drafting/Design or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
  • Skills: Knowledge of solid modeling, preferably using Creo.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work on multiple projects and coordinate with multiple departments simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of fabrication processes, such as injection molding, machining, metal forming, and die-casting.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD design software, Windchill PDM system, and Adobe Illustrator.
  • GD&T: Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
