Position Overview: We are looking for a proficient and committed Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to become a part of IHC Health Services, Inc. in our imaging department.

Role Responsibilities: As an APP, you will collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding diagnostic and therapeutic services in medical imaging. Your role is crucial in ensuring precise and prompt diagnoses, thereby enhancing the quality of patient care and safety while delivering exceptional customer service. You will serve as a key communicator among various stakeholders.

Work Schedule: This is a PRN position, meaning your schedule will vary based on the needs of the facility. Typical shifts are 12 hours long, with operations running Monday through Saturday.

Clinical Duties:

  • Work alongside radiologists and healthcare teams to execute and interpret a variety of imaging procedures, including but not limited to: X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine studies.
  • Conduct patient assessments and physical examinations to collect relevant data for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of treatment plans based on imaging results, collaborating with the healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures by providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns.
  • Monitor patient responses to imaging procedures, reporting any adverse reactions or complications, and providing necessary care.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, explaining procedures and offering instructions for pre- and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient interactions, imaging results, and treatment plans in compliance with established protocols.
  • Stay informed about advancements in imaging technology and safety protocols, engaging in continuing education and professional development.
  • Support accreditation activities in collaboration with management.
  • Assist with research initiatives related to diagnostic imaging, working with various key personnel.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards to ensure the reliability of imaging procedures and equipment.
  • Perform intervention procedures as applicable.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Educational Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate education to enhance the knowledge of patients and their families, providing tailored instruction to support their care.
  • May mentor other staff in areas of expertise and provide educational opportunities for students.
  • Remain updated on current healthcare trends and participate in continuing medical education to ensure optimal clinical knowledge.

Collaboration and Consultation:

  • Coordinate patient care efforts with other healthcare providers.
  • Communicate clinical information accurately and timely to other members of the care team.
  • Collaborate with peers to share expertise effectively.

Research Involvement:

  • Participate in research and apply evidence-based practices to enhance patient care and develop best practice standards.
  • Support professional growth through involvement in research initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Eligibility for State Controlled Substance License.
  • Eligibility for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience or specialization in medical imaging, particularly in radiology or nuclear medicine.
  • Proficiency in executing and interpreting various imaging procedures.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to imaging.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and adherence to ethical standards.
