Position Overview:

We are in search of a proficient and committed Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to become a vital part of IHC Health Services, Inc. in our innovative imaging facility.

As an APP, you will collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding diagnostic and therapeutic services in medical imaging. Your expertise will be essential in facilitating precise and prompt diagnoses, thereby ensuring the provision of superior care, safeguarding patient health and safety, and delivering exceptional customer service. You will serve as a key liaison by maintaining effective communication with all relevant stakeholders.

Work Schedule:

This is a PRN (as-needed) position with a flexible schedule. Shifts are generally 12 hours long, with operational days from Monday to Saturday.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals to execute and interpret a variety of imaging procedures, including but not limited to: radiographs, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine studies.
  • Assist in conducting patient assessments and physical examinations to collect pertinent information for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Engage in the formulation and execution of treatment plans based on imaging results, working alongside the referring healthcare team to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures by providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns or inquiries. Promptly report critical findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Monitor and assess patients' responses to imaging procedures, identifying and reporting any adverse reactions or complications. Provide necessary care in the event of a contrast reaction.
  • Effectively communicate with patients, elucidating procedures, addressing concerns, and offering essential instructions for pre- and post-procedure care.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive documentation of patient interactions, imaging results, and treatment plans in accordance with established protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Stay informed about advancements in imaging technology, techniques, and safety protocols, participating in ongoing education and professional development activities.
  • Support relevant accreditation initiatives in collaboration with IHC Health Services management.
  • Assist with research protocols related to diagnostic imaging, collaborating with Clinical Imaging Specialists, Chief Medical Officers, and other key personnel.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of radiological procedures and equipment.
  • Conduct intervention procedures (e.g., lumbar punctures and arthrograms) as applicable.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Educational Responsibilities:

  • Conduct and/or coordinate educational initiatives to enhance the knowledge of patients, their families, and others, providing tailored instruction based on patient needs to support the continuum of care.
  • May mentor other staff in areas of clinical expertise and provide instruction to students to enhance their clinical knowledge and ensure safe patient care.
  • Remain current with trends in healthcare practice and engage in continuing medical education to ensure optimal clinical knowledge and effective patient care skills.

Consultation and Collaboration:

  • Coordinate and collaborate patient care efforts with other healthcare providers.
  • Communicate clinical information in a timely, accurate, thorough, and appropriate manner to other providers involved in patient care.
  • May collaborate with other care providers to effectively share practice expertise.

Research Participation:

  • May engage in research and utilize evidence-based practices to promote quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for the assigned patient population.
  • Support professional development through involvement in research processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current state license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
  • Eligibility for State Controlled Substance License.
  • Eligibility for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.
  • BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Specialization or experience in medical imaging, such as radiology or nuclear medicine.
  • Proficiency in performing and interpreting various imaging procedures, including but not limited to: X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and nuclear medicine studies.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to imaging.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with patients, healthcare professionals, and support staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical and professional standards.
