About the Role
The Clinical Research Manager will be responsible for leading the centralized services unit and demonstrating leadership skills in education, practice, and operations. This individual will ensure the appropriate clinical and research outcomes and efficient, effective team processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement research strategies
- Manage day-to-day operations of the research department/unit and prepare reports on research and operational activities
- Ensure that department meets budget, timelines, and expectations for unit
- Facilitate effective study operations and assist in identifying and selecting trials by reviewing and evaluating all new protocols
- Serve as a resource and expert on clinical research issues for the unit
- Monitor adherence to research protocols and ensure that research activities are performed in accordance with Good Clinical Practice standards, policies, and regulations
- Coordinate and organize the required activities for the study and investigator visits and meetings
- Facilitate staff development and empowerment of staff
- Ensure staff competency with position, protocols, policies/procedures, and good clinical practice guidelines
- Mentor staff through performance feedback processes
- Develop departmental goals, set priorities, and independently ensure goals are met
- Set priorities and facilitate the appropriate utilization of human, financial, and material resources
- Responsible for staff communication and departmental meetings, interviewing and hiring, scheduling and staffing, peer evaluation process, disciplinary actions, and participates in strategic planning
