Job Title: Manager Software Engineering 2 – Sentinel Emulation/Simulation Lead

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a highly skilled Manager Software Engineering 2 to lead a team of systems and software engineers in the development of a Sentinel emulator/simulator. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and assigning work to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of systems and software engineers in the development of a Sentinel emulator/simulator.
  • Provide guidance and assign work to ensure the successful completion of the project.
  • Collaborate closely with the DevStar architecture team, IFC requirements team, IFC leads, and STT to plan, develop, integrate, and test Weapon System emulation and simulation capabilities.
  • Assess staffing needs, current as well as projected, and work with team leads to address those needs.
  • Support recruitment activities, including creating requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.
  • Work with the program software manager and technical leads to establish personal program and functional goals, and perform performance evaluations and merit adjustments for subordinates.
  • Provide subordinates with career development recommendations, mentoring, discipline, as necessary.
  • Acquire necessary computers, equipment, and tools to enable subordinates to perform their work, and generate training plans based on program and subordinate needs.
  • Provide regular flow down of company and organizational status, and represent and be a spokesperson for the Software Engineering organization to their group, assigned project, and the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience or 4 years with Master's or an additional 4 years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Minimum 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • 1+ years of experience coordinating with multiple teams and organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Real Time Component Framework (RTCF).
  • Experience with emulation/simulation.
  • Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.
  • Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
  • Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans, and then execute those plans.
  • Experience leading Software Engineering teams.

Work Schedule:

The standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
