Job Title: Manager Software Engineering 2 – Sentinel Emulation/Simulation Lead

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manager Software Engineering 2 – Sentinel Emulation/Simulation Lead to join our team at Northrop Grumman Defense Systems. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading a team of systems and software engineers, providing guidance and assigning work for an end-to-end Sentinel emulator/simulator to support early HW/SW integration for IFC weapon system functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of systems and software engineers in the development of Sentinel emulator/simulator.
  • Collaborate closely with the DevStar architecture team, IFC requirements team, IFC leads, and STT to plan, develop, integrate, and test Weapon System emulation and simulation capabilities.
  • Assess staffing needs, current as well as projected, and work with team leads to address those needs.
  • Support recruitment activities, including creating requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving offers.
  • Work with the program software manager and technical leads to establish personal program and functional goals, as well as perform performance evaluations and merit adjustments for subordinates.
  • Provide subordinates with career development recommendations, mentoring, discipline, as necessary.
  • Acquire necessary computers, equipment, and tools to enable subordinates to perform their work and generate training plans based on program and subordinate needs.
  • Provide regular flow-down of company and organizational status and represent and be a spokesperson for the Software Engineering organization to their group, assigned project, and the company.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience or 4 years with Master's or an additional 4 years in lieu of a degree.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with a reinvestigation date occurring in the last 6 years.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
  • Minimum 1 year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule.
  • 1+ years of experience coordinating with multiple teams and organizations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Real Time Component Framework (RTCF).
  • Experience with emulation/simulation.
  • Experience with individual contributor performance assessments.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks.
  • Operates independently with limited to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers.
  • Able to assimilate information from multiple sources, create coherent plans, and then execute those plans.
  • Experience leading Software Engineering teams.

Salary Range:

$131,200 - $196,800

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.

In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
