Healthcare Support Services Specialist

Position Overview:
The Support Services Associate plays a vital role in ensuring the operational efficiency of various departments, including Environmental Services, Materials Management, Facilities Operations, and Food and Nutrition.
This position significantly contributes to the comfort and satisfaction of patients, visitors, and staff by upholding a clean, safe, and inviting healthcare environment.
Essential Qualifications:
ServSafe Certification is mandatory within two months of employment.
Valid Driver's License.
Desirable Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
Prior experience in environmental or support services is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Services: Conduct thorough cleaning and sanitization tasks, including wiping surfaces, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping. Responsible for the proper disposal of waste and hazardous materials. Ensure restrooms and patient areas are stocked with necessary supplies. Manage laundry collection, delivery, and organization as required.
Materials Management: Assist in the shipping and receiving operations of the facility, ensuring accurate handling of freight. Inspect incoming shipments for damage and discrepancies, confirming that delivered items match packing slips. Responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and maintaining accurate documentation. Monitor and manage supply levels, placing orders and restocking as needed.
Facilities Operations: Perform general maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment and facilities, including plumbing, electrical work, basic carpentry, and HVAC systems. Conduct routine maintenance on building systems and grounds, including snow removal and landscaping. Ensure the facility remains clean and well-maintained.
Food and Nutrition: Oversee food service operations for patients and community events, including food preparation, presentation, and delivery. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to safety and health regulations.
Skills and Competencies: Demonstrates sound judgment and professionalism in all interactions. Exhibits patience and maintains confidentiality. Capable of performing essential functions in a fast-paced environment. Proficient in learning new software and office equipment. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to prioritize tasks effectively while meeting deadlines. Flexible to work varied shifts as required.
