Position Overview:
The Support Services Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various departments, including Environmental Services, Materials Management, Facilities Operations, and Food and Nutrition. This position is vital for fostering a clean, safe, and inviting healthcare atmosphere that enhances the experience of patients, visitors, and staff.
Qualifications:
+ ServSafe Certification is mandatory within two months of employment.
+ Valid Driver's License.
+ Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Preferred: Prior experience in environmental or support services.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Services:
+ Execute cleaning and sanitizing duties, which include wiping surfaces, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping.
+ Collect and dispose of waste, including hazardous materials, appropriately.
+ Replenish supplies in bathrooms and patient care areas.
+ Manage laundry tasks, including collection, delivery, and organization.
Materials Management:
+ Support the Materials team with shipping and receiving operations, ensuring proper handling of freight.
+ Inspect incoming freight for damages and verify against packing slips.
+ Oversee packaging of outgoing shipments and maintain accurate documentation.
+ Monitor and manage supply levels, ensuring timely ordering and restocking.
Facilities Operations:
+ Conduct general maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities, including plumbing and electrical tasks.
+ Perform basic repairs that do not require specialized skills, such as drywall repair and painting.
+ Carry out routine maintenance on building systems and grounds.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities.
Food and Nutrition:
+ Provide food services for patients and assist with community-related events, covering food preparation and delivery.
+ Ensure a clean and organized kitchen environment through regular cleaning practices.
+ Adhere to all safety and health regulations regarding kitchen operations.
+ Undertake additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
+ Demonstrates sound judgment and maintains professionalism at all times.
+ Exercises discretion and sensitivity, ensuring confidentiality.
+ Effectively manages tasks in a fast-paced environment.
+ Proficient in learning new computer applications and office equipment.
