Ramboll US Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team in the Energy Intensive Industries Division.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience in process safety engineering, with a focus on facilitating and scribing PHAs, Dust Hazard Analyses, and other process safety tasks.

As a Senior Process Safety Engineer, you will work closely with our Process Safety Engineering Manager to grow into a leadership role, mentor and coach earlier-career engineering staff, and support the pursuit of new project work for the process safety group.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating and/or scribing PHAs for chemical manufacturing processes (HAZIDs, HAZOPs, FMEA, LOPAs)
  • Facilitating and/or scribing Dust Hazard Analyses (DHAs) for industrial processes
  • Working alongside our Process Safety Engineering Manager to grow into a leadership role
  • Actively supporting the pursuit of new project work for the process safety group
  • Mentoring, coaching, and supporting development of process safety expertise in earlier-career engineering staff
  • Responsible for managing budget and schedule performance on process safety tasks of projects
  • Performing PSM applicability studies and PSM audits
  • Effectively communicating and documenting with project teams, including outside contacts, customers, and other engineering departments
  • Guiding the development of internal Process Safety policies and procedures

Requirements for the role include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering (or equivalent) and 10+ years of relevant experience in process safety engineering
  • Experience with facilitation and scribing of PHAs
  • Experience with PHA Facilitation Software (PHAWorks, PHA-Pro or similar)
  • Experience with Safety Integrity Level (SIL) calculations
  • Experience with the design and/or operation of PSM-covered processes
  • Experience with auditing the requirements for PSM processes (e.g. operating procedures, mechanical integrity program, management of change)
  • Experience with combustible dust standards and DHA facilitation
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Variable travel required - 20 to 30% depending on project demand (international travel may be required)
  • Valid driver's license required
