Job Title: Chief Counsel for Health Affairs


Emory University's Office of the General Counsel is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Counsel for Health Affairs to oversee all legal matters for Emory Healthcare and serve as the primary legal advisor to Emory Healthcare's CEO, senior management team, Board of Directors, and more than 490 outpatient provider locations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal guidance to Emory Healthcare's CEO, senior management team, and Board of Directors on all legal matters related to healthcare.
  • Oversee all legal matters for Emory Healthcare, including contract review and negotiation, litigation management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to achieve Emory Healthcare's business objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including finance, operations, and marketing, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date on changing healthcare laws and regulations, and provide guidance on compliance.


Requirements:

  • At least 20 years of broad-based experience in healthcare law.
  • Significant experience as the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel for a large health system, hospital, or healthcare organization.
  • Emotionally intelligent manager with excellent communication and leadership skills.
