Job Summary

This position is an exciting opportunity to join the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as a RN- Health Care Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and triage to all patients presenting for non-urgent care.
  • Perform administrative and various clinical duties.
  • Provide clinical leadership in the Specialty Care Clinics.
  • Maintain professional knowledge of proficiency, continuing education, staff meetings, workshops, and serving on nursing committees.
  • Collaborate with other professionals in developing a multidisciplinary approach to provision of care.
  • Record observations, nursing interventions, therapeutic measures, and other relevant patient care data.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a graduate professional nurse in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth.
  • Ability to work effectively in stressful situations and shift priorities based on patient needs.

Additional Information

Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).

Participation in the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination program is a requirement for all Veterans Health Administration Health Care Personnel (HCP).

English Language Proficiency is required.
