Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in leading a team dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of service documentation to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Address concerns and requests promptly, implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training programs offered by the organization.
  • Promote a safe working environment by adhering to departmental safety protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to supply management practices.
  • Train staff on the proper handling and usage of cleaning chemicals.
  • Proactively identify and resolve quality assurance issues within the facility.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date duty rosters for staff assignments.
  • Facilitate comprehensive orientation and ongoing training for new and existing employees.
  • Delegate equipment and daily tasks to team members effectively.
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection process for new staff.
  • Contribute to team meetings and discussions.
  • Provide individualized support and motivation to team members to enhance performance.
  • Assist in the performance evaluation process alongside the Environmental Services Director.
  • Ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met in designated areas.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance inspections.
  • Adjust staffing levels as needed to meet operational demands.
  • Collaborate with the Environmental Services Director to plan and coordinate project work.
  • Support compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Monitor the use, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of contract management and office procedures.
  • Knowledge of Environmental Services practices to achieve organizational goals.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, use hands for handling tasks, and reach with arms.
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of items up to 50 pounds.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods, ranging from 4 to 8 hours.
  • Ability to transport heavy equipment as needed.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature conditions.
  • Physical demands exceed those typical for light work.
  • Must be mentally capable of following oral and written instructions.

Employment Classification:
This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), entitling employees to overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek, in accordance with applicable regulations.
