Position Summary
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist plays a crucial role in executing a wide range of tasks aimed at installing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining our residential properties. This role requires adherence to safety protocols, as well as predictive and efficient maintenance practices, to help achieve the operational goals of the organization. The individual in this position will engage directly with residents, necessitating a strong customer service orientation.
Core Responsibilities (Key Duties & Functions):
The following responsibilities are essential and may be supplemented with additional tasks based on organizational requirements.
• Execute tasks related to electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing, appliance servicing, painting, and other standard apartment maintenance activities.
• Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with daily service requests, unit turnovers, preventive maintenance, and any other assigned responsibilities.
• Comply with the established dress code as directed by management.
• Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment when necessary and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Complete service requests both electronically and in written form.
• Maintain the maintenance workshop, ensuring proper inventory management of parts, tools, and supplies.
Qualifications/Experience
• A minimum of two years of experience in property maintenance, with HVAC certification preferred.
• Proficiency in carpentry, plumbing, appliance repair, electrical work, and other standard maintenance tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with residents, clients, team members, and other stakeholders, responding courteously to inquiries and maintaining composure when resolving issues.
• Reliability and dependability in fulfilling assigned duties.
• A valid driver's license and current insurance are required.
• Availability for emergency on-call duties as needed.
