This position will require your expertise in aerospace engineering, simulation, and modeling to drive innovation and progress in our mission to make humanity a multi-planetary species.

You'll work closely with our team of experts to develop and implement cutting-edge technologies, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our space vehicles.

As a Simulation and Modeling Expert, you'll be responsible for creating and maintaining complex models and simulations to support vehicle design, testing, and operation.

With a strong background in aerospace engineering and simulation, you'll be able to make significant contributions to our team and help us achieve our vision of a future where millions of people live and work in space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain complex models and simulations to support vehicle design, testing, and operation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop advanced space vehicles and systems
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and innovations to support our mission
  • Work closely with our team of experts to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our space vehicles

Requirements:

  • B.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, or related technical subject area
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in development of aerospace vehicle and/or physical system models and simulations
  • Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, flight mechanics, and 1st principles physics-based mathematical models
  • Familiarity with Python/C/C++ for building low-level simulations
  • Experience with aerodynamics, parachute hardware, and parachute modeling and simulations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • M.S. or PhD in the subject disciplines
  • Solid system engineering and configuration management skills
  • Experience with NASA simulation tools and environments (Trick/JEOD)
  • Experience with Julia SW language
