Overview: At Velcro Companies, we are seeking a dedicated individual to take on the role of a Plastic Extrusion Operator.
Job Purpose: The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and achieving certification on various manufacturing equipment while adhering to established Standard Operating Procedures. This role emphasizes maintaining Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost standards while performing diverse tasks on a daily basis.
Shift Details: 3rd Shift: 10:45pm - 6:45am
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve certification in HTH Operator level 1 as outlined in the training checklist.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized workspace.
- Conduct basic troubleshooting of extrusion machinery and plastic processes.
- Understand and comply with all standard operating procedures, control plans, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain precision in production reporting, downtime, sampling, and data entry.
- Interpret the Discrete Job Routing Sheet and Repetitive(s).
- Complete necessary computer transactions and documentation.
- Meet established production standards consistently.
- Be accountable for personal and departmental performance metrics.
- Successfully complete training and operate Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT).
- Adhere to Quality Standards ISO/TS 16949, Environmental Standard ISO 14001, and BRC/IOP.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed, including extended shifts and weekends.
- Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Full-time presence is required.
- Be open to cross-training in various functions as necessary.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and suggest improvements to work instructions and procedures.
- Basic computer skills are essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
