About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager of Structural Engineering to lead the development and operations of the New Glenn Stage 1 structures scope. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing the design, development, test, and production of the first stage heavy lift vehicle structures, including ortho/iso-grid panels, splice plates, thermal protection systems, composites, and various other primary structure sections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the structural engineering strategy for the New Glenn Stage 1 program, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of structural engineers in the design, development, and testing of the launch vehicle structures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless execution of the program.
  • Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to technical performance, cost, and schedule, ensuring the program remains on track to meet its objectives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering, with 8+ years of experience in complex structures development.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent technical, business, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with launch vehicle development, production, and operations, as well as familiarity with design drawing and GD&T practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, Program Management Professional (PMP) certification, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience.
  • M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Systems Engineering, with experience in launch vehicle development, production, and operations.
  • Strong business management competence and experience managing large, geographically dispersed programs.
