Senior Mechanical Engineer for New Glenn Rocket Development

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin, where you will play a critical role in the development of our New Glenn rocket. As a key member of our mechanical engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and testing the mechanical systems of our launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for the New Glenn rocket, including fluid and thermal systems, structural components, and mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with other vehicle components.
  • Perform analysis and testing to ensure the reliability and performance of mechanical systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and testing.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality mechanical systems on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of fluid and thermal systems, structural analysis, and materials science.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, finite element analysis tools, and other mechanical design and analysis software.
  • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and regulations.
  • Experience with system layout and component design for launch vehicles and ground cryogenic and pressure systems.
