At Blue Origin, we are committed to developing reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Safety Engineer to join our team and support the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond.

This role will work across New Glenn's subsystems to support integrated solutions, apply system engineering practices, ensure consistent implementations across the program, and serve in an integration capacity working with multi-discipline teams to achieve sound solutions. The Senior Systems Safety Engineer will be responsible for evaluating safety products and requirements for compliance with our system safety processes and products against internal and external standards, including Range Safety, NASA, FAA, MIL-STD-882, or ARP-4761. This role will also implement and maintain system safety processes, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and train and mentor engineers on identifying and analyzing system safety risks.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8+ years of professional experience within integrated systems, with experience in system engineering principles, analysis, design, or integrated testing. They will also possess strategic and proactive thinking, as well as the ability to communicate effectively while working within set timelines.

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $146,644.50-$205,302.30, and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, paid parental leave, short and long-term disability, 401(k) with a company match of up to 5%, and an Education Support Program.

We provide all qualified applicants for employment and employees with equal opportunities for hire, promotion, and other terms and conditions of employment, regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin/ethnicity, age, physical or mental disability, genetic factors, military/veteran status, or any other status or characteristic protected by federal, state, and/or local law.
