Job Description

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Structural Engineer on our team, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the structural systems for our New Glenn launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop structural subsystems, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing, and qualification.
  • Generate and release 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents.
  • Perform hand calculations and finite element analysis of primary and secondary aerospace structures.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure system-wide optimized design, manufacturing, and operations execution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and 5+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle, or automotive structures.
  • Demonstrated examples of primary structure release and qualification.
  • Strong mechanical design skills using 3D CAD software.
  • Familiarity with classical aerospace structures analysis techniques, GD&T, and drawing standards.
  • Experience with development and/or qualification testing.
  • Familiarity with composite and metallic manufacturing techniques.
  • Familiarity with bonded and bolted joint design, mechanics, and relevant analysis techniques.
