Position Overview:
The Clinical Nurse Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the activities of nursing staff within the patient care unit. This position ensures that the needs of patients are met effectively while evaluating the quality of nursing care and performance within the unit.

Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct nursing personnel to ensure optimal patient care.
- Assess and evaluate the nursing care provided to patients, ensuring adherence to established standards.
- Collaborate in the planning and organization of unit operations, coordinating with other departments as necessary.
- Develop and implement training programs for nursing staff, contributing to their professional development and education.
- Facilitate efficient patient flow through effective communication with the admitting department and nursing units.
- Act as a clinical resource, providing expert guidance in both direct and indirect patient care processes.
- Lead and manage hospital codes and crisis situations, ensuring competent leadership during emergencies.
- Serve as a representative for department and hospital executives in their absence, addressing any concerns or incidents that arise.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is recognized as the leading acute care medical facility in the region, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services. The hospital is equipped with advanced emergency facilities and is the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend area, staffed by highly trained professionals.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of two years of nursing experience, including supervisory roles in an acute care setting.
- Current Texas State RN license.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire.
- De-escalation training required within 90 days of hire.
