Overview:
The House Supervisor is accountable for the seamless coordination and management of patient flow within the hospital's care delivery system. This role acts as a vital communication bridge between the admitting department and nursing units, ensuring that patient care processes are executed efficiently.
As a clinical expert, the House Supervisor provides essential guidance and oversight for both direct and indirect patient care activities. This position requires competent leadership during hospital codes and crisis situations, ensuring that all protocols are followed effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the representative for hospital and departmental leadership in their absence, addressing any issues or events that arise.
- Maintain open lines of communication with nursing staff and administrative personnel to facilitate optimal patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures, particularly in emergency situations.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
A minimum of two years of nursing experience, including supervisory roles in an acute care setting, is essential.
Possession of a current RN license in Texas and CPR certification (American Heart Association) is mandatory.
ACLS certification must be obtained within six months of hire, and NIHSS training is required within 90 days of employment. De-escalation training must also be completed within 90 days of hire. Additional certifications may be required based on specific facility needs.
