Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavioral Health Responder to join our team at the University of New Mexico - Hospitals. As a Behavioral Health Responder, you will work with our interdisciplinary team to provide crisis intervention, case management, and support services to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide verbal de-escalation and crisis intervention services to individuals in crisis
  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify individuals in need of behavioral health services
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to support clients in achieving their goals
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure optimal, recovery-oriented care to clients
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on mental health and substance use issues
  • Participate in community outreach and education efforts to promote behavioral health services
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse, or a related field
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification
  • NM Cert Peer Support or Family Peer Support or CMHW certification
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to respond to crisis situations in a calm and professional manner. The Behavioral Health Responder will be required to travel to various work sites and to work with clients in a variety of settings.
