We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health Responder to join our team at the University of New Mexico. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with individuals in crisis, providing verbal de-escalation, screening services, and case management to ensure optimal care and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emergency response and crisis intervention services to individuals in need
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop person-centered, trauma-informed safety plans
  • Conduct screenings and assessments to identify individuals in crisis and provide appropriate interventions
  • Provide case management and care coordination services to ensure seamless transitions and optimal outcomes
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in mental health, substance abuse, or a related field
  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS certification
  • NM Cert Peer Support or Family Peer Support or CMHW certification
Working Conditions

This is a heavy work position that requires frequent travel to various work sites and may involve physical risk/injuries due to combative patients. The successful candidate will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with biohazardous materials.
