Transport Specialist - GROWMARK

OBJECTIVE AND OVERVIEW

The Transport Specialist operates various configurations of trucks for the timely delivery and collection of agricultural and energy products, adhering to designated schedules to foster business growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely operates assigned vehicles, including single, tandem, or multi-axle trucks, ensuring compliance with established safety protocols and operational standards.
  • Conducts daily safety inspections of vehicles and equipment, including pre-trip checks of fuel, oil levels, tires, lights, and brakes, while maintaining cleanliness and professionalism of the vehicle.
  • Adheres to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and guidelines.
  • Ensures timely deliveries and pickups, providing exceptional customer service and professionalism throughout all interactions.
  • Completes necessary documentation, including bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to facilitate prompt payment processing.
  • Maintains accurate logbooks and records of cargo, fulfilling all assigned record-keeping responsibilities on a daily basis.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, as well as Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA, and DOT policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience demonstrating proficiency in operating tractor-trailer or tender truck equipment while meeting company and DOT standards.

Possesses essential skills including business acumen, teamwork, communication, customer orientation, decision-making, and professional development.

Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a valid CDL license with necessary endorsements, a valid medical card, and a satisfactory driving record.

Ability to work extended hours and be on-call as business demands dictate.

Must be able to acquire and maintain any additional required certifications, licenses, and permits.

WORKING CONDITIONS

May be exposed to extreme weather conditions, noisy environments, and various hazards, with appropriate safety measures in place.

Willingness to participate in required training related to GROWMARK's policies and procedures and position-specific requirements.
