Job Description

Overview: The role of a Maintenance Technician involves collaborating with experienced maintenance professionals to acquire essential skills in the field. As a key contributor, your duties will encompass a range of responsibilities, including the installation of machinery, upkeep of mechanical systems, and repair of various equipment. This position requires providing troubleshooting, preventive, and corrective maintenance services on diverse machinery and systems. Maintenance Technicians operate within industrial settings, ensuring the safe execution of mechanical and electrical tasks to maintain the functionality of machines, equipment, and facility structures. This position includes hands-on training under the guidance of a maintenance manager and supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of warehouse machinery, conveyor systems, and overall building upkeep.
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance on mechanical handling devices (including conveyors, fiber machines, compressors, pallet jacks, and sweepers).
  • Address mechanical failures and replace faulty components, which may involve welding, brazing, and soldering techniques.
  • Perform repairs on mechanical handling equipment, storage racking, and other structural elements within the warehouse.
  • Utilize mechanical hand tools and measuring instruments (such as tape measures, micrometers, and drill gauges).
  • Dismantle machinery and replace defective parts as necessary.
  • Manage inventory of equipment parts and supplies by monitoring stock levels and placing orders accordingly.
  • Educate production staff on routine preventive maintenance practices.
  • Adhere to OSHA Safety and Health regulations while maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and risk management procedures.
  • Report all incidents, accidents, and injuries promptly.
  • Engage in regular safety meetings, training sessions, and hazard assessments.

Work Environment:

  • Employees in this role may frequently encounter fiber dust, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, and elevated noise levels. Compliance with OSHA safety requirements is essential, including the use of protective clothing and Personal Protective Equipment as mandated by the work environment.

Position Type / Work Hours:

  • This is a full-time role. Overtime may be necessary at the beginning or end of shifts. Work hours and shifts may change based on operational requirements, including evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Associate degree is advantageous.
  • Previous experience is beneficial.
